The second week of ‘Uptober’ meets the crypto crowd with an intense series of crypto unlocks, which are set to apply inflation on the token supply. According to Blockchain Journalist Collin Wu, the $555 million token unlock campaign will have two especially large cliff unlocks, applicable to Aethir (ATH) & Linea (LINEA) with 10.32% & 6.98% of supply unlocked all at once.
Market Watchers Mark This Supply Shock Date
Aethir (ATH) is coming off a 15.5% weekly drop, trading at $0.05562, according to CoinGecko. The altcoin’s 42 billion supply is about three times higher than the current circulating supply, meaning that there’s still plenty of token on-lock. Linea’s (LINEA) position is similar, having 15.49 billion tokens in circulation at $0.028 price, while the max supply is just above 72 billion.
Now, ATH holders are bracing themselves for the multi-million October 12, 2025 cliff unlock.
In monthly terms, Aethir (ATH) is still 87.3% up, but unlocking over 10% of token supply at once will likely prolong the market correction. In Linea’s case, the zkEVM Layer-2 blockchain built atop of Ethereum (ETH) is set to unlock 1.08 billion on October 10, 2025. This scheduled token unlock will be dished out between long-term alignment & the Linea Ignition liquidity incentive programs.
